Cosmic Chords
Cosmic Chords is an immersive pre-show installation that transports visitors to an alien soundscape—where music, interaction, and imagination converge. Designed for AFAS Live, one of Amsterdam’s premier concert venues, the experience was created to engage audiences while they await their favorite artists.
Positioned near the food and beverage areas to capture natural foot traffic, the interactive booth harnesses the universal language of music to spark curiosity and play. Visitors are invited to explore a collection of mysterious, extraterrestrial instruments—each producing a unique tone or rhythm known as a “cosmic chord.” As guests experiment with these otherworldly objects, their collective sounds awaken animated alien entities within the installation.
The more visitors play, the more the environment comes to life—culminating in a vibrant, celebratory moment where the aliens fully reveal themselves and invite everyone to join in a dance-fueled finale. Cosmic Chords turns idle waiting time into a joyful, communal adventure—blurring the lines between art, music, and interactive storytelling.
